I don't know how a writer can keep from reading reviews, but I know some say they do.

Carl, I've heard writers say their sales will spike with a good review. That's a temporary thing, but something!Kaye Georgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05596677617002735674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5999752843311959295.post-62661087724000028422011-04-27T11:49:54.113-05:002011-04-27T11:49:54.113-05:00As a reviewer of crime fiction lo, these many year...As a reviewer of crime fiction lo, these many years, I wish Doug was right and we wield enormous influence.
But, realistically, and even experientially, I know we have little influence over the vast majority of readers. If we did, imagine how different the many lists of best sellers would be. Realistically, as a writer of crime fiction and subject to reviewers of many attitudes, I am quite happy that reviewers have as little influence as they do.carl brookinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16400731716746662544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5999752843311959295.post-73529962713458160282011-04-27T11:33:34.588-05:002011-04-27T11:33:34.588-05:00Doug, I wouldn't worry.I got a terrible review...Doug, I wouldn't worry.I got a terrible review from Kirkus (who have a bit of a reputation for this)for MY debut crime. And that, too, sits slap bang near the top of my reviews. I imagine every writer has at least one rotten review that they can never quite forget. Just tell yourself they're failed writers who'll never have ANY sort of review, good, bad or indifferent.

BTW. I enjoyed your visit to my blog. Your name sparked quite a discussion on fb!
Geraldine Evans
http://www.geraldineevans.comGeraldine Evanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03198460366759427244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5999752843311959295.post-91561941348150827502011-04-27T10:53:10.705-05:002011-04-27T10:53:10.705-05:00Hi Doug, Oy.
